Cash Money Signs Lil Wayne To New Multi Album Deal

Cash Money/Universal announced a new multi-album deal with their flagship artist Lil Wayne. While terms were not announced, the deal is Wayne's second since 2005, after the rapper was rumored to be leaving Cash Money for Def Jam.

The 2005 deal netted Wayne his own Young Money imprint, and a position as Cash Money's president, which he later stepped down from. Lil Wayne has been with the label in some capacity since 1995, when he appeared on the B.G.'z album True Story. According to Nielsen Soundscan, Wayne's latest effort, Tha Carter III, has sold just under 2.5 million copies since being released on June 10th.

MTV News reports DJ Drama and Lil Wayne are working on the latest installment of their "Dedication" series of mixtapes.

"Me and DJ Drama are going back at it," says Wayne. "I'm showcasing my whole clique — the Young Money family. And three months after that, I got 30 more [songs], and we're gonna give them away for free —as I always do—on my Web site."
